REVIEW: The Mirror Reveals - "Divinity"

Chain Border

DivinityThis beautiful combination between seductive vocals, masterful pieces of music and a hint of electronica make up this wonderful group based in New York City. After listening to generally Aphex Twin, Nine Inch Nails and the like for the good bit of a year, this EP is a very refreshing listen. Yeah, I know what you all are going to say. You're going to say, "But DarkSol, you're not goth... Why do you like this music?" Well, let me tell you exactly why I like this music.

The Mirror RevealsFirst off, the vocals for the songs absolutely bury themselves into your soul. The sweet, liquid beauty of Kit Messick just delves into my very essence evoking emotions that I really don't want to talk about. Also, the way she delivers the words, the power behind them surges.

Second, the lyrics themselves are also very powerful. Babbo selects the best words to convey the emotions that each song was meant to send out. It wasn't like he went to a thesaurus, but he thought long and hard about each word choice.

This is a wonderful EP, unfortunately; only about 1000 of these were ever released so getting your hands on one of these babies might be a hard thing to do.
