Questions

By Jaken Steele

Have you ever felt the pain of loneliness
To have no one to talk to
No one to reach for in the darkness

Have you ever known the pain of rejection
To be cast aside like an old toy
To be neither needed or wanted

Have you ever known the horror of isolation
To be alone in a crowd of people
Knowing you're destined to walk through life alone

I know them all like books I've read
Over and over. They're placed in the
library of my mind

To have felt the loneliness, the rejection,
And the isolation is to have known true
Suffering. So I ask you honestly…

Have you ever?
